While visiting Torre del Mangia, climb to the top and enjoy one of the most beautiful views that Siena can offer. As lunchtime comes around, stop and enjoy some authentic Italian food and continue the sightseeing. Another extremely beautiful sight to see in Siena is the Duomo di Siena. The Duomo di Siena emphasizes Gothic architecture. Amble around the historic center, enjoy dinner and wine as the day in Siena comes to an end.
On the Serchio River, in a fertile plain by the Ligurian Sea, rests the beautiful city of Lucca. Lucca is well known for the beautiful Renaissance walls, surrounded by its historic city center, and the cobblestone streets. Bike or walk to Lucca’s Citadel walls which hold so much history. The Citadel walls are wide, with green spaces, parks, picnic benches which locals often play board games on, and so much more to enjoy. Next, dally through Piazza Napoleone and enjoy the many shops and cafes. Continue the day by visiting the Piazza San Michele, Torre Guinigi, and many more attractions that this city offers. To end the day, head north of Lucca and enjoy the beautiful view of the Serchio River that overlooks the charming villages, and bridges. The river is able to add more atmosphere to the city and a perfect end to a weekend in Tuscany.
