Paris-Plages

Every summer Parisiennes escape to the coast to avoid the hot and humid weather of the city. Paris-Plages was created to provide relief for those having to remain in town. Every July and August, the banks of the Seine are transformed into a summer scene right out of Palm Beach. The river embankment takes on a beach theme complete with sand, palm trees and parasols.
