Free Things to do in Paris!

September 1, 2015

While being one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Paris also has the tendency to do some damage to your wallet! If you’re looking to make the most out of your trip to Paris and save some euros along the way, check out these free things to do while in the City of Light.

First Free Sundays

Admission to top museums, such as the Louvre and Musee d’Orsay, is free the first Sunday of each month in Paris! If you’re lucky enough that your trip falls in the beginning of the month, be sure to take advantage of this great deal, which can save you up to €100!

Cathédrale Notre-Dame

No trip to Paris is complete without a visit to iconic Notre Dame. Fortunately, admission to this landmark is free, and the experience is priceless! Located in the 4th arrondissement on the Île de la Cité, you can catch some breathtaking views, study the incredible stained glass, and even attend mass.

Open daily 8am-6:45pm (7:15pm on weekends)

High Fashion

Has attending a Parisian fashion show always been a dream of yours? Well you’re in luck! On Friday afternoons at the Galeries Lafayette department store, models walk the runway showing the most fabulous new fashions. The best part? Tickets are free of charge! It’s always a good idea to call ahead for tickets, just to ensure you’ll have a seat!

40, Boulevard Haussmann, 9th arr, +33 (0142) 823-025 or email.

Promenade Plantée

Enjoy a lovely afternoon walk along the Promenade Plantée, a 2.8 mile tree-lined, elevated trail on an obsolete railway line. The views from the trail are spectacular, and the trail goes right over Viaduc des Arts, an artsy collection of stores and craft shops. Begin at the Bastille to get the full experience!
