Can You Keep A Secret?

November 9, 2017

Just about everyone enjoys a good secret. Today, we plan to take you through some of Paris’ greatest secrets, from hidden locales to parts of history to unexpected things to do while you’re there. It’s okay, you can spill these secrets with friends, we won’t tell…

Urban Vineyard Clos Montmartre, 18th Arrondissement

Tucked behind Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre, this wine haven produces about 1,700 bottles per year but rarely sells to shops or wholesalers. Take a sip during the Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre. Or a few.

Peach Orchards, Montreuil

This is for our Southern Belles looking for a slice of home. Make your way to the west side of Paris to find orchards that served such greats as the Queen of England and Louis XIV and feast your eyes on the heavenly peach walls.

La Pagode, Bis Rue de Babylone

This historic movie theatre stuns with the architectural details, ornate interior. Nestled in a 1896 Japanese pagoda, this old world charmer additionally offers afternoon tea in the oriental garden. The photo-op possibilities abound!

Boating, Bois de Boulogne

What once served as hunting grounds for the King of France, this expansive park now provides the perfect setting for a calming return to nature. It offers a number of activities, including hiking, biking, and boating on the lake.

Deyrolle Taxidermy, Rue du Bac

This one is for our fans of local Charleston shop Taxidermy. Virtually any specimen you can think of from butterflies, insects, botanical species and shells, to lions, tigers, and bears, you’re sure to find to find something eccentric! Mantle piece, anyone?

Pretty Box, Rue de Saintonge

In need of the perfect beaded clutch or a 20’s Chanel creation? One of the best vintage boutiques in Paris, they exclusively collect from top tier vintage shops throughout Europe, stocking only the “must haves” and surprisingly with must have prices. Affordable, quality European pieces from every era? Yes, please!

Stay at an Invalides Apartment in the 7th Arrondissement next time you feel like taking a trek to uncover France’s national (*secret*) treasures!
