If history is what you’re after amidst your hiking adventure, there are some great options within Brittany to explore. Brittany’s oldest city is called Quimper, and in many ways it still feels like a provincial market town. For the majority of the year, this a great place to visit if looking for a stroll, a place to eat, or to shop. In July, though, the city comes alive for theFestival de Cornouaille, which celebrates Breton music and traditions.
One of the most popular, and picturesque, walking routes in Brittany is the GR 34 coastal path. The trail runs fromMont Saint-Michel Bay to the Emerald Coast and the Pink Granite Coast and offers postcard-quality views almost the entire way. Brittany has over 1,100 miles of trails to follow along the coast of Brittany, each just as breathtaking as the last.
