Welcome to Campania

Although Campania real estate isn't as well-known as Tuscany or Umbria, many people will argue that it is one of the most memorable places to live in Italy. Home to Naples and the doomed ancient city of Pompeii, Campania offers all sorts of stunning oceanfront real estate on its Amalfi Coast.

Bordered by the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west, Lazio to the northwest, Molise to the northeast, Apulla to the east and Basilicata to the southeast, this centrally located province is close to Rome for easy travel for vacationers. Ripe with investment opportunities, Campania's increasing popularity will equal excellent rental revenues for smart homebuyers.

Campania Property

There are few markets in Italy as hot as Campania real estate. Overall, prices have gone up significantly in the last 20 years, in some cases as high as 70%. Coastal areas are filled with upscale resort towns which cater to the whims of vacationers. Especially popular is the group of islands just off of the coast: Procida, Capri and Ischia. You'll be hard pressed to find anything in this area, as there is little property on the market. What little is available is priced accordingly.

Further inland however is where you can find some deals on Campania property, in addition to some great scenery. The rolling hills that dominate the area offer some marvelous national parks. As you head further north, hills give way to mountain ranges. Campania is also home to one of the last active volcanoes in Europe in Mt. Vesuvius, the very one that buried the city of Pompeii under a bed of ash once upon a time.
